This was a fun morning! Took the Trolley that stops right in front of our RV Park over the bridge to the little town of Fort Meyers Beach. It’s very cute with shops, cafes, bars, etc. I had a great breakfast looking out at the Beach. Walked the beach for a while and wished I had my chair and book but I had to get back and check out and hopefully UPS will have delivered the package I’m waiting for. Success – it arrived! Took off for the Everglades.
The drive was on the highway so no biggy then had to get off and was driving through the Everglades. I could see the boats that do the tours and the canals and surely you’d think I would have seen an alligator but no such luck. They did have signs posted to be aware of Cougars. Great! I had visions of cougars attacking Bill on his bike! So I’m driving along and Bill calls to tell me the place we have reservations at is closed for the season. Swell! So he investigates and finds another place out of town on this little island but him telling me how to get there was not a few pleasant conversations. He’s terrible at giving directions! Didn’t even tell me it was in another town. Needed at cocktail!!!
So we stay at this really nice RV Park called Chokoloskee Island that’s really a timeshare and very nice. Had a great dinner on our patio looking at the Everglades and drinking wine.
It was a beautiful sunrise this morning and I’m off to Florida City for 1 night then Key West for 3 nights at the same place! Do you believe it – I’m so excited!
Take care -
Love Bugs have kind of gone away. It's very hot here. Hopefully the Keys will be a little cooler.
