I had a pretty drive to Juniper Lake RV Park and mostly on the Interstate. We’re in DeFuniak Springs, Florida and this is nothing like what I pictured as Florida. This place is a little slice of heaven!
I arrived early afternoon and Duncan and I immediately had to explore. The campground is situated on Juniper Lake which is just beautiful. The owners, Donna and Bill, have created a place that is very friendly and welcoming. Duncan and I enjoyed the deck and the view as it was a perfect setting. Bill arrived early so he was able to join us. This is a place I don’t want to leave and tried negotiating that with Bill but I don’t think it’s working. Donna feeds the turtles (lots of them) and the catfish. Of course my pig of a dog wanted to eat the fish food and bark at their comatose dog! He finally settled down but it’s embarrassing sometimes. We had a great BBQ and enjoyed the quiet.
This morning Duncan and I had our visit on the deck with Donna and Bill and a neighbor and again fed the turtles. Duncan was very friendly to the neighbor dog so he’s redeemed himself and ignored the comatose dog. We have to leave this place which makes me sad but it’s time to move on. Probably more freakin bridges to cross today!
We’re off to Mariana, Florida. It’s been a month and we’re still talking!
Take care, Neita
