Day 40 with Ruby and Rocket

Well we’re here after 120 miles! At the Bluewater RV Park which is fabulous! The drive was great and I was nervous for nothing.  I went through the little towns on the different Keys. (Monica – there is a Craig Key) Tons of Keys connected by bridges including the 7 mile bridge.  The water looks aqua and is beautiful. I thought I would be driving and be right next to the water.  That’s what it looks like on the map.  Well there is lots of foliage so you’re not right next to the water, then you go through the little towns and oveer the bridges which are up above the water line some so I didn’t drive off in to the water.  (take that Steve!) The people here at the park are really nice and the maintenance guy is a biker so he checked on me a couple of times to see if Bill had arrived and offered to go get him if necessary. I think he was more worried than me but fear not he arrived around 4:30 after a very long ride. Thanksfully it was flat!  He was a little late for the start of happy hour but I caught him up just fine!

Anyway our sight is right on the water and we have a little cabana with a thatched roof, our own dock and beautiful view. I believe this is a timeshare park but this isn’t the busy season so not a lot of people here now.  We did get some neighbors soon after I pulled in and have made friends.  They’re from New Orleans with an LSU flag.  Maybe I need to get an ASU flag.

We were going to bicycle to Key West this morning but I chickened out cause I’m a little worried I’d get there and not want to come back.  It’s really nice out here now but it will warm up. The RV Repair Man is coming this morning to look at our awning and change our oil so I need to stay here.  We’ll probably take Rocket to Key West this morning which is about 14 miles.  I don’t think we’ve ridden her that far yet. Should be fun!
So we’re here for 3 days and it’s glorious.  I’m sitting out in the cabana working on this and Bill will probably have to drag me away.  Will keep you posted on our excursions.
Take care -
