Day 8 with Ruby and Rocket

OK just shoot me! I'm sorry for you people from Texas!  I thought I'd get an early start cause Sierra Blanca just wasn't getting it for me.  BORING! So I got all packed up and headed toward Kent, Texas.  I should have listened to my brother cause he said it was worse.  It said on the internet that we could park behind the Kent Mercantile.  I thought - oh that might be really interesting.  Well stupid me!  The dam place is closed first of all and it's windier than all get out.  You can't even see past the stupid bushes.  My backyard is the railroad track and literally about 30 feet away. However 3 railroad trucks have driven by on the tracks to check them.  They sure are safe or probably wondering what these crazy people are doing parked behind the MERCANTILE.   The "Mercantile" does provides a little protection but wholly bejeesus this place sucks!  Duncan is outside barking at the birds cause they can't even fly in the wind.  At least he's on asphalt and not the dirt.  I've had a couple glasses of wine (can you tell) and haven't started dinner.  We are "dry camping" which means no electric and plumbing.  Everything still works but who cares as we are in the pits!  Bill had a lot of cross wind today as so did I driving this thing.  It's really very comfortable but I sure will be glad to get out of Texas.  Sorry Mike and Monica (they're Texans). Ron - did you send them my blog? Anyway I think I'll switch to margaritas as I'm making tacos.  Maybe I won't hear the interstate which is just on the other side of the Mercantile (closed) and hopefully the trains won't run tonight.  Thought I'd send a pic of my backyard as it's going by!

Just so you know the pictures of Bill are the before and after.  Sometimes my fun factor has failed and I don't even open the screen to take his picture when he returns.  I'm so bad!  I'll try to do better for all my picture friends.

 Later,
