Howdy,
Day 4 takes us from Buckhorn, NM to the big ole town of Kingston, NM. This was one challenging day. Lots and lots of uphill and winding roads - 85 miles. I think if I had to bike this I would have pulled over and just cried!!! It was an elevation gain of around 4,000 feet. The pass we went over was 8,800 feet. Ruby did fine but I was ready for pre-happy hour when we arrived in Kingston! We stayed at the Kingston Campground and if we'd blinked we would have missed the whole dang town. We did go a little farther and visited the town of Hillsboro. Very cute and very small! Billed survived the ride and rolled in around 5. We had the campground to ourselves except for a family from Switzerland. They had twin 4 year old daughters and Duncan was in heaven chasing the ball. We shared a bottle of wine with them and loved learning about what they were doing travelling the US. Good day!
